It's the time of the year again... The one that all students dread, but look forward to the end of it... Most start to bury themselves in knowledge absorbing, while some believe their daily regular portion of attention given is sufficient to pull through these tough times...
Exams. That word, so familiar, yet so strange.
We here, the MSESIG Exco, fully understands what you go through, and thought, well, hey, why don't we do something to encourage our fellow mates with awesome goodies free-of-charge?
So there you have it.
THE VERY FIRST MSE WELFARE PACK GIVEAWAY!!!
Details can be seen on the sidebar, but we would also like to emphasise a few 'terms and conditions':
1. Only ONE pack per person! Redeem with matric card.
2. Matric card must be presented by the collecting-person him/herself.
3. For the first 100 undergraduates!
As you can see from our facebook event page, several people have already rsvp-ed, and as you know, since there are only 100 packs... YOU GOTTA ACT FAST!!!
Also, as a bonus, we're throwing in a lucky draw as well! Since we're making the day a happy day for all MSE students, why not we show some camaraderie and let's all wear our white and gold MSE shirt! Yup, only those who wear the shirt will be qualified for the draw and stand a chance to win ben&jerry's ice cream vouchers!
Good place to hang out after exams (or during exams if you're that stressed out) because THE ICE CREAM IS DELICIOUS!
That's all from me now, and do check back for more updates from your Publicity Director- here to serve you hahaha (:

MSESIG Achievement Day
Student Achievement Awards 2011
This was the 6th achievement day held by Office Student Affair (OSA) but this wasthe very first time MSESIG was invited to such event and received such recognition from OSA for the efforts that exco members have contributed to make campus life in NUS a more interesting experience. For the year 2010/2011, we must say that we are one of the more active society compared to other societies in engineering faculty with events like MSE 1.5k, Sports day and the upcoming FIRST MSE STUDENT WELFARE PACK GiveAway ! We are also very proud to display the certificate we received in our NEW MSESIG Office to serve it as a constant reminder to actively organize events to reach out to all the mse students. UP AND ON !
MSE YEAR 2 Prawning Event!
MSE YEAR 2 Prawning Event!
Hi Peeps!
Hi Peeps!
During the second week of school, the Year 2s decided to have a bonding session for us to relax and have fun with each other before our tutorials begin. It was an awesome evening dining with one another at Ajisen Ramen before we proceed on to Bishan prawning farm. The prawning session turned out to be a virgin experience for some of us and the most exciting moment i guess was when the prawns got hooked up with our rods ! At the end of 3 hours of our prawning session, we even have the chance to barbecue our prawns alive and eat them fresh !

mse sports day
MSE SPORTS DAY
In lieu with all the campaigns for a healthy lifestyle, the MSESIG is proud to present... Our very own sports day!
This year, we will be playing badminton and basketball at MPSH5/SRC, from 9am-12noon.
Things to bring:
-Yourself
-Badminton racket/shuttlecocks/basketball
-Attire for sports
It will be really great if you can bring your own equipment. But fret not if you don't have. Your understanding MSESIG exco will bring some extras, but those are really subjected to availability.
In any case, do come down early to have a fruitful morning packed with healthy exercises! Reasons to come down: a) burn away the calories because of christmas and new year b) burn away the calories before the bakkwa and pineapple tarts kick in c) participate in our very own MSE event with awesome friends (:
Really, we're doing this for your own good (;
Come on down and show us what you've got!
p.s. MSE camp committee sign-up deadline is looming...

mse camp 2011 recruitment drive
THE MSE CAMP COMMITTEE 2011 RECRUITMENT DRIVE.

Now, why should you join this camp committee?
First, you get to know more people, friends who might be with you for the rest of your life (:
Second, you get to know what it's really like to be out there doing things on your own. Sure, you still have the school to help you and stuff, but the organising and rallying- you only have you and your team-mates. This is where you taste responsibility and be the leader you ought to be.
Third, you will fill your NUS life with colours. Where's the full-fledged undergraduate student experience if all you do is just studying? No matter if you're foreign or local, I'm sure this is probably the last time you get to be a full-time student when all you gotta do is to study. So why not and go all out to know it yourself how it really is like to be able to contribute back? Be it to the school or to your own course, this is truly an experience I believe all NUS students should have. Think about it, what would you say if people ask you what's the most memorable thing you've done in college? Would it be 'nothing' for you?
So now, click this link and sign up! The chance to organise a camp is not easy to come by, so why not try it over here?
That's all I have to say, and I hope you guys can see what it really means to be an undergraduate, not just a student.
Here is the list of positions available. Each person can apply for a maximum of 2 positions, except the Director position, which means if you apply for Director and get it, you cannot be holding another post.
e.g. You can be both the Vice-director and Logistics Head.
So here we go:
1. Project Director
2. Vice Project Director
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
5. Programs Head
6. Publicity Head
7. Logistics Head
8. Sub Comm (Programs)
9. Sub Comm (Publicity)
10. Sub Comm (Logistics)
The job scope, is quite obvious in the title of the positions.
I take my leave, and remember to sign up by 28 JANUARY 2011, 2359h!!
