mse sports day

MSE SPORTS DAY

In lieu with all the campaigns for a healthy lifestyle, the MSESIG is proud to present... Our very own sports day!

MSE Sports Day! Allow images to be viewed.
MSE Sports Day! Allow images to be viewed.

This year, we will be playing badminton and basketball at MPSH5/SRC, from 9am-12noon.

Things to bring:
-Yourself
-Badminton racket/shuttlecocks/basketball
-Attire for sports

It will be really great if you can bring your own equipment. But fret not if you don't have. Your understanding MSESIG exco will bring some extras, but those are really subjected to availability.

In any case, do come down early to have a fruitful morning packed with healthy exercises! Reasons to come down: a) burn away the calories because of christmas and new year b) burn away the calories before the bakkwa and pineapple tarts kick in c) participate in our very own MSE event with awesome friends (:

Really, we're doing this for your own good (;

Come on down and show us what you've got!

p.s. MSE camp committee sign-up deadline is looming...

mse camp 2011 recruitment drive

Welcome back to blk-e3a! After about a week's month long of hiatus since the 1.5k Event, which you can view the photos and all the fun we had on facebook, the 5th MSESIG Exco is back this semester with even more goodies!

THE MSE CAMP COMMITTEE 2011 RECRUITMENT DRIVE.

Now, why should you join this camp committee?

First, you get to know more people, friends who might be with you for the rest of your life (:

Second, you get to know what it's really like to be out there doing things on your own. Sure, you still have the school to help you and stuff, but the organising and rallying- you only have you and your team-mates. This is where you taste responsibility and be the leader you ought to be.

Third, you will fill your NUS life with colours. Where's the full-fledged undergraduate student experience if all you do is just studying? No matter if you're foreign or local, I'm sure this is probably the last time you get to be a full-time student when all you gotta do is to study. So why not and go all out to know it yourself how it really is like to be able to contribute back? Be it to the school or to your own course, this is truly an experience I believe all NUS students should have. Think about it, what would you say if people ask you what's the most memorable thing you've done in college? Would it be 'nothing' for you?

So now, click this link and sign up! The chance to organise a camp is not easy to come by, so why not try it over here?

That's all I have to say, and I hope you guys can see what it really means to be an undergraduate, not just a student.

Here is the list of positions available. Each person can apply for a maximum of 2 positions, except the Director position, which means if you apply for Director and get it, you cannot be holding another post.

e.g. You can be both the Vice-director and Logistics Head.

So here we go:

1. Project Director
2. Vice Project Director
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
5. Programs Head
6. Publicity Head
7. Logistics Head
8. Sub Comm (Programs)
9. Sub Comm (Publicity)
10. Sub Comm (Logistics)

The job scope, is quite obvious in the title of the positions.

I take my leave, and remember to sign up by 28 JANUARY 2011, 2359h!!

Student Leaders' networking session @ The Helipad

Hi all !

We had a wonderful night @ The helipad for student leader networking session organised by OSA as we had free flow of alcoholic house pour from the bar , get to talk and know the other student leaders from other society and clubs in very comfortable environment and the buffet food makes the night even better. The scenery from the helipad is awesome as well and we were quite fortunate to sign up for the event to gain exposure to events like this. Here are some of the pictures.

PYJAMAS PARTY

In case you've been living under a rock with no internet connection nor news from the outside world, we'll be having our very first MSE PYJAMAS PARTY as the after-party for our 1.5K Event!

What's a pyjamas party?

Actually most of you have been to one; if you've stayed over at a friend's house, in school (for camps etc) or inviting your friends to your own house for a sleepover. Basically the general idea is that friends get together for a night of fun, sleepover, and this is often made more interesting with the idea of wearing pyjamas.

Of course we won't be wearing pyjamas for nothing. You know why people dressed up for prom? Why people bothered to slap on inch-thick make-up for halloween? It's all for getting into the spirit of the party itself!

Well, we don't expect you to come in heavy make-up nor pretty frilly dresses and definitely not shirtless for the guys (because I do know that some boys sleep semi-naked. Case in point: my brother and father), but do have the decency to come in proper pyjamas!

Often a favourite choice for many, but strictly, no FBTs allowed. You can come in other kinds of shorts, but make sure it sticks close to our theme!

We're not forcing you guys to wear and certainly not gonna bar you from entry if you choose not to participate in the 'dressing up.' But then again, it'll look awfully out-of-place if you're the only one not geared up, no? And all those pictures would definitely look much more interesting and memorable!

Haha, I know the guy looks pretty creepy, but my point is, you can even wear nightcaps too! I'm gonna come with a santa hat (if I can find one) since it looks like a nightcap, and it's the month of christmas!! Killing two birds with one stone, yup.

Discussion on our facebook page is strongly encouraged! You don't wanna turn up in the same pyjamas as someone else, do you? Wait, maybe you do.

So bring your favourite set of PJs, have an awesome stayover, and whip your hair back and forth.

Go add yourself to our Facebook page if you haven't already, hor.
